Joshua Mauer

Joshua Mauer is a Partner and Senior Vice President on The SMH Capital Group at Steward Partners in Baltimore, MD. Prior to joining Steward Partners, he was a Vice President & Senior Portfolio Manager at Morgan Stanley Wealth Management. His roles & responsibilities include Relationship Manager, Stock Selection, Syndicate Allocation, Marketing, Financial Planning, Israeli Public Companies and Community Engagement.

Throughout his 26 years of experience in the financial services field, he has provided advice, service & results on behalf & for the benefit of clients in both the accumulation as well as the distribution phase of their lives. Operating under the principles of integrity, trust & confidence, Josh brings as much passion to all planning issues as he does to investing client’s assets. He & the SMH Capital Group devote considerable energy to other client issues such as estate planning, cash flow management, life/disability/long-term care insurance protection, business development, educational funding, retirement & charitable giving.

Prior to his 9 years at Morgan Stanley, he was Vice President & Portfolio Manager at UBS Financial Services from 2004-2008, Wealth Management Specialist at Legg Mason Wood Walker from 1999-2004, and Registered Representative for Development Corporation for Israel (State of Israel Bonds) from 1986-1993.

Josh’s educational background includes a J.D. from the University of Baltimore School of Law (1988-1992), Certificate in Arts Management from the University of Rhode Island (1983) as well as a B.A. from Clark University (1977-1981).

In the past, Josh has served as Baltimore Jewish Council Holocaust Commission Chair, President of the Baltimore Chapter Friends of the IDF, The Associated’s Baltimore-Ashkelon Partnership and Beth Tfiloh Spotlight Co-Chair.

Josh’s current philanthropic leadership positions include Chairman of the Board for the Baltimore Chapter of the Friends of the IDF as well as Trustee of Acharai: The Shoshana S. Cardin Jewish Leadership Institute.
