B. Barry Salzman, CPM®

Director, Wealth Manager

Barry Salzman is a Partner, Director and the senior partner of the SMH Capital Group of Steward Partners Global Advisory, LLC, as well as, a Certified Portfolio Manager. In this capacity he is responsible for portfolio and financial management, on a fully discretionary basis, of high net worth clients and charitable entities. Utilizing the resources of both Steward Partners and Raymond James Financial, he helps clients accumulate, grow, protect and transfer their assets.

He has experience in security selection, portfolio construction, insurance and financial planning. He holds degrees and/or certificates in Financial Planning and Portfolio Management. His specialization is in the use of covered call options to help enhance the return potential on portfolios while reducing the risk and volatility of his client’s portfolios. He has been a lecturer at the Industrial College of the Armed Forces (The War College), Loyola College, and Johns Hopkins University on topics such as financial planning, option Investing and prudent investing strategies.

Prior to joining Steward Partners Global Advisory, LLC he was a Senior Vice President with Morgan Stanley Wealth Management. He was also a Senior Vice President with UBS Financial Corp and Senior Portfolio Manager, a Branch Manager and National Director of Branch Development for Gruntal and Co. (now Stifel Nicolaus), a First Vice President with Blythe Eastman Dillon, a Senior Vice President and Financial Principal with Janus Securities and Registered Representative with Bache and Co. (now Wells Fargo).

Barry graduated from The University of Maryland in 1966 with a BA major in Psychology. He attended The Johns Hopkins University in Operations Research in 1967. He also attended Columbia University where he received his Certified Portfolio Manager (CPM®) designation and was admitted into the Academy of Certified Portfolio Managers in 2011.
